Personally I think this girl named Summer Glau would make a perfect Max. She's a mix of Avril and Evan.
Avril Lavigne is a poseur. She's really not that great. But I respect anyone's decision to like her, I guess.
My personal opinion is that unknown, young kids should be chosen for the movie, and open tryouts should be held. I think it seems to work out well that way.

I think Anna Paquin should play Max, beccause she's soft looking, but she did an AWESOME job in Xmen, and can totally whoop Eraser BUTT!!! Avril's best performance was as a possum in Over the Hedge...

personally i think that there should be open auditions, and that anyone, including stars, should have to audition with the other new actors. that would make it fair. there are new stars rising every day, just to be put out by the older stars with more experience because they werent given a chance. Avril should stick with music!!

No way! Hayden Panettiere would be much better for Max. I mean she has experience as a kick ass supergirl from Heroes. She really reminds me of Max through attitude and looks. Plus avril is such a poser! She pulls of a goth and wimpy look while Max is more strong and tough look. Think about it !

Hayden Panitierre (sp?) would be an awesome Max, but she's kinda too old to play her... then again, isn't Max supposed to look older for her age? I'm confused... but I'm absolutely positive that Avril should NOT play Max... sure she's also 'punk' but personally I think Max should be pretty and more, I don't know, casual looking instead of all hard-core...
