I hope this touched you enough to do something. To anyone living anywhere from Exeter,Ca to Tulare,Ca;I am trying to organize a meeting to help get kids involved. The adults aren't doing anything to help. Right now we are either meeting at Borders, the Exeter Starbucks, or a library somewhere withen that area. Until then, do some small things. Walk to places you would normally drive to. Recycle more. It all helps. It may not seem like a lot, but if everyone did their part, the world would be much much cleaner. Thanks for listening.

can you guys please answer my questions? i've been asking for a while now and still haven't gotten an answer! with all due respect, if you expect me to be a loyal reader, you might want to consider answering my questions so i don't go mad with rage and burn all the Maximum Ride books, which would be a big waste of money, not to mention valuable paper.

So many new powers came in the new book. Sort of ridiculous like Total getting wings and Nudge being magnetic and Iggy seeing white. The only slightly cool, interesting or make sense one was Fangs. I really think you should of left it as is except for Fang. Especially Gazzy, now your just trying to appeal to a ridiculous immature side of non-readers who didn’t even read you first books in the first place.
And with this book so far everything that wants to happen has. Every time you need to escape the bad guys silly little things happen that let you. Even bigger is every time you need to be caught by the bad guys you somehow are without a hope compared to your creative little fixes before. And when Total wants wings or Iggy wants to see- they start too.
It's completely Fan fed gimmicks and this blog proves it. "oh I love you so much Iggy you have to see!'' Or "Total I’ll never forget you from the abstract out of place days when you began to talk to now where I say you should get wings!"
And a little bit of fan feedback is good but you should never have to turn around and feed it to them. What they want they get in your book. Even the lowly art of fanfiction from my youth when a read a few were better than this and didn’t succumb to the near whiney voices of begging fans who care on a minute basis and in a shallow way to any of this.
An author decides their characters fate and doesn’t start to loose touch with their characters. You can see with Mr. Patterson, his connection degrading. The sense of story, or life in a story slowly ebbing away. The characters aren’t who they were in the beginning. Not in the sense that they've changed or grown or have complicated emotions. Because even with all that an authors characters have a sense of stability and that carries over to the readers. It's lost somewhere here. You don't know who they are any more; they are but the vesicles of your tale, the empty shells that carry along some undecided point that you can't quite find. When in writing the author should be the vesicle of the character and the story should not be able to fit with in a box.
I don't know who Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gasman and Angle are any more. Not like I did in the beginning so faintly and hoped to see grow. I have no idea about these characters and I feel nothing for them. I'd really like to feel for them. I'd really like them to shake me and I have a certain idea in mind of each ones attitude and being. But every day I come back here to see if there is any hope. Any out stretching light that maybe later or in a later 5th book it will return. Strong and unshaken, coming back from a deep dark hole to shine brighter than ever before. But it's getting weaker and weaker, slipping more quickly through my small fingers like sifting sand.
I wonder why I still come here. Wonder why I still read through every comment by delirious fans that echo through my brain in a high pitched, fanfed writing rush voice. Why I read the new updates with the tiniest glow only to picture placid stands- card board cut outs of characters I once hoped to come to know, for people, for being alive, for their place in the world and their higher many of it.
I figured out why I come back. Maximum Ride has left a mark on me. One that taught me something about life and about the world and mankind.
It’s simple and soft-served these days. Everywhere I go there’s more and more of that. This has happened to me with other things- even things I’ve read. But I slowly realized those, this series managed to crush me all in one book and then I realized how bad the rest were. To this point where I care very little about any of you and as I go to Amazon to read bad reviews for books I love I come here to look at drooling fan’s comments or find interesting high-held posts written by completely absorbed in a shallow interpretation of the world characters- or just more advertising for this book. Manga and movies- its all just a marketing game.
My mom was just sitting here seeing me typing and told me how she had to learn to type on an old typewriter where you couldn’t make mistakes. And if you did you had to start over because teachers wouldn’t let you make mistakes. And I told her theses days they were making it so you could make more and more mistakes and still be put up on a pedestal.
That’s how I feel about this writing to a point.

Okay so, I have been wondering lately if you ever actually READ on fanfiction.net. So do you? Because if you do you may be an itty bitty bit frightened by the rated M ones about you and max. Ok, i got done reading the 4th book, and let me tell ya, I was soooo let down!!! I mean, if the only way Max had to save the world was to make a SPEECH in front of Congress, then why did you need the fist 3 books? 1-3 ran smoothly together, and fit in perfectly with the story line. And then, the fourth book comes along, and I was like, "where did THIS come from?!?!?!?!" It's just sooo RANDOM!! Was it written by a fan, or something??? What does global-warming have to do Itex and Ari, and Jeb, and Anne, and all of them??? Ok, the UB was just sooo weird!! Was he like, an Itex experiment, or did he just show up?And is Jeb suddenly good, and you guys suddenly love him, or something?? Okay, so this doesn't have anything to do with "WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO BE MARY J. BLIGE", but it does have to do with the flock. Today we went to Legoland and there is the all-awesome Miniland. Gives you a birds-eye since everything is small, with trees and flowers grown bonsai. Oh, and you know, there's New Orleans, New York, San Francisco, Southern California, and Las Vegas. Etc. The Cajun. Ferndale. And not just touching a little here and there. The locations/architecture were very complex and intricate in all ye mundane and that which is deemed, "Fancy Schmancy Landmark." So one can't exactly hover over the little buildings, but from a lot of angles, I felt like I was a bird looking back at the cities as I flew away. Of course, going all creative-imaginy failed to account for the giant starlings terrorizing the Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans. But I digress. Hope this makes sense, best wishes to Mr. Patterson.

Yo, Fang whats up? Listen I just finished reading The Final Warning and uh well the only problem I had with the book was the amount of drama. You need to stop kissing Max because if you kiss her too much then she might make too many wrong decisions(No offense to Max intended)and you all could get killed. A little is fine but each time you kiss Max it confuses her and then you get mad at yourself because you think you just did the dumbest thing possible even though you didn't and I just feel so bad for Max. Anyways, you should post more often. I mean, I rush inside, beat my brother up for the computer, rush to this site... and there isn't anything new. AND (sorry, I couldn't help starting a sentance with "and", my teacher says you can't until you're old enough to get you're lisence, which I'm not. ;p) AND I get grounded for no reason at all!!! Then sometimes even after I get my privileges back, there still isn't anything new. It is really very frustrating!!!

the really long post that the anonymous person wrote about the books disintegrating was amazingly well-written. a little harsh, because i still like maximum ride despite the fourth book, but a lot of what was said is true. and because of the fourth, sometimes i feel myself slowing drifting away from maximum ride. please, please, please let the fifth book be incredible and save the books!

Max- super fast flying (voice inside head, if that counts)
Fang- if he doesn't move, he disapears
Iggy- can tell coulers just by touch (how else)
Nudge- magnetic, controlles computers
Gazzy- voice imitaion
Angel- (where to start) change what she looks like, talks to fish, breathes under water, controlles peoples minds, read minds... I think that's it.
Why is Angle so much more advanced than everyone else? I'm not done the 3rd book yet so more might come.

Fang- What color are your wings REALLY? That's always bugged me! Are they just plain jet black, or do they have like, a purple glint to them in the sun? I've never gotten that.....
Iggy- Have you ever wished that there was someone in the flock you could really relate to? Cuase we all know Max and Fang have their own little connection (yes, I mean you guys, don't kill me), and of coarse Gazzy and Angel are brother and sister, and the Nudge is always there with Angel. Or do you just have that strong of a connection with the whole flock?
Gazzy- Will you get Fang to let you blog at least ONCE? That would be SO awsome!
Angel- We all know your an amazing trooper in all of this, but I guess all of your powers make that better. But do you ever wonder why you are the one with so many powers?

Please. I hope you can take me with you. I hate normal. And I swear, I have bones that have been growing on my tailbone and back. I feel the bones everyday. They grow... longer. I have verrrry small nubson my upper back, between my shoulder blades. I sometimes get pains,there too. OMG! So if they do turn out to be wings... may I join the flock? It is slow growing and I still don't have feathures, if they are bird wings, but they do grow. Oh, geez,what if it is cancer or something...? If they are wings, and once they grow to full size, I will fly to the sky and will watch for you. That is if they are. Do not be alarmed, please. It is just starting to get to me, now and I am FREAKING OUT... as you can see...

You are the awesomest, uber coolest people ever! Well, somewhat people. Anyways, I've always looked forward to your books and I have finished all of them. They were so awesome! :D
Well, my birthday is on Saturday, (31st) and I'm flying that day (in a plane, not with wings or else I wouldn't be complaining :D) and I was wondering if you could post something on your blog. I mean, you don't have to, it's your blog, but it doesn't hurt to ask. It would make my day a whole lot better if you did.

Question one: (All Flock) What was your favorite city to fly over so far?
Question Two: (To Total) You are such an awesome little dog. What was it like to grow wings when you've been wishing for them throughout the whole series?
Question Three: (To Max) It seems like a hard job to take care of five kids and a dog, two if you count Akila, and I was wondering if you ever had any favorite moments with them.

Will there be a fifth book?
I'm sure heaps of people would like one, because we loved the first four. (You can probably tell by the number of people visiting this blog.) But the fourth book also left lots of questions dangling from the whole series, such as:
Why did Max see an Eraser version of herself in the mirror in Book 2?
In Book 3, who sent the blog comment saying there was a traitor among the flock? And why was it sent when there wasn't?
Whats with Max's Voice? Who/what is it, if it isn't Jeb? And how does it get into her head?
What happened to the Director of Itex and the Re-evolution Plan?
Will all the amazing powers the Flock discovered in Book 4 ever be put to use?
and the one I'm sure most people have been wondering:
Whats up between Max and Fang? Will Max ever admit she loves him?
These questions keep heaps of us awake at night. And theres more where they came from. Will there be another adventure for Max and Co., if not just to answer these questions? It feels like the story hasn't ended properly.

Yes I read it.It only took me about... 15 minutes,which means it was very long besause usually I am done these books over the course of about 2 evenings(maxuimum ride books).
Who is on the cover of 'the final warning' because in the book Max describes her wings and that isn't her(unless the ppl who coulered the pic didn't read the books :0 -deep intake of breath-)
