Nuclear weapons are dangerous and life threatening. I find no point in them. And people who think that they keep the peace in the world are just stupid. It's just other countries are scared to attack the countries with Nuclear weapons because ten to one those countries will react. So they work on building bigger and better things. This is more than a yes or no question to me. I just can't answer fairly. I don't think that an egalitarian society would ever work. I mean, maybe one day far in the future; just not now.
Communism has already been tried and is being tried but I think the problem is that all men are not created equal in my opinion.
Would I be in favor of a more peaceful, equal society? Sure! Do I think it would work at this point in time? Not really.
The part of that question that scares me is the "relatively non-violent (fewer than 1000 casualties)" part. Is that really what are world has come to? That if a thousand people die it's considered relatively non-violent? I know it is compared to large wars but still...

P.S. To Danielle: OMFG. How can you compare MR - one of THE best pieces of literature I've ever read - to TWILIGHT? PATTERSON doesn't use Mary Sues (unless you count the 'Red Haired Wonder'). PATTERSON actually has a plot. PATTERSON doesn't have Max fawning over Fang for majority of the book,l eaving only roughly twenty-five pages for an actual CONFLICT.

Max: You pwn. End of story. I wish I was you =( I think I look like you, though! Medium-length blonde/bornw hair, brown eyes (well, mine are hazel) and a little above average height (alright, I'm not 5'8). I'm just fatter than you =( And I have glasses.

I know you guys are like, fighting for your lives daily and whatnot, but I would give my right arm to be able to fly. I mean, that's just the coolest thing. I could move away from stinky old armpitville (sigh), AKA Delaware. Honestly, its terrible. Theres truly nothing to do around here. A lot of people get depressed because its so sad. (Frown).
